An exciting new phase

OWNSTABLE has entered the next stage of its development - the first of two trial phases.

These trials provide an opportunity to test the platform in real-world settings with key participants, helping to refine its functionality and user experience. Each phase plays an important role in preparing OWNSTABLE for wider release, ensuring it is practical, effective, and ready to meet the needs of Trainers, Service Providers, and Owners.

Shadow Trial - (current)

In this trial, we check how well the software supports day to day business activity. We are working with Trainers, Service Providers and Owners to capture the real-life events as they happen to a selected group of horses, then we replay these events through the OWNSTABLE platform. This allows us to confirm that the software performs as expected and gives us the opportunity to tweak and tune where we find issues. The defining characteristic of a shadow trial is that it is the product development team that works with the software - not the intended end users. End users are involved through phone calls and emails to communicate the events as they occur, and the OWNSTABLE team then works with the platform software using this information. No financial transactions take place, and the records for the horse and Service Provider are not touched. This means that we get real world validation with the least possible disruption to everyone's business activities.

Live Trial - (coming soon)

This trial is similar to the shadow trial, with one key difference: Trainers, Service Providers, and Owners will begin using the OWNSTABLE platform directly to manage booking requests, service delivery, and communications. By this stage, the development team will have had the opportunity to iron out any issues that arose during the shadow trial, improving and preparing the platform for this next phase. Live trial participants will experience OWNSTABLE first-hand and provide feedback based on their direct interaction with the software. This exposure will test the ease of use of OWNSTABLE and allow participants to contribute to refining the software further. No financial transactions take place, and the records for the horse and Service Provider are not touched.

This marks a major milestone as we prepare for our first live horse in December, focusing on real-world testing and valuable user insights to help deliver stability, transparency and connection across the equine industry.

Trainers

During the shadow trial, Trainers will not be asked to directly use the OWNSTABLE platform. The OWNSTABLE team will be entering all tasks and activities on your behalf.

To assist with the trial process, we would appreciate your help with capturing activities that occur with a trial horse.

  • Keep in touch: Each time a trial horse requires an interaction or has an activity (eg. transport, trackwork, vet visit, farrier, or anything else), simply give us a call or send us an email to summarise the request.

  • Share multimedia: Take photos and videos of the trial horse in as many settings and as often as possible. We’ll provide a dedicated phone number (for SMS) and email address where you can send them.

Throughout this phase, we will be testing some of the key functions of OWNSTABLE.

For example, requesting services for a trial horse, reviewing and validating service reports from Service Providers*, providing horse status updates, sharing multimedia* and communicating with Owners*.

It is important to note that we will not be requesting any financial details, nor will we be conducting any billing or payments throughout the shadow trial.

Your input will prove invaluable in ensuring our process flow supports Trainer and Service Providers workflows effectively, whilst providing a rich and engaging experience for Owners at the same time.

Service Providers

During the shadow trial, Service Providers will not be asked to directly use the OWNSTABLE platform. The OWNSTABLE team will be entering all tasks and activities on your behalf.

To assist with the trial process, we would appreciate your help with providing updates on services for a trial horse.

  • Keep in touch: Each time you complete a service for a trial horse (eg. farrier, vet visit, transport, or any other activity), simply give us a call or send an email summarising the work performed, including any applicable fees.

  • Share multimedia: Take photos of the horse during or after a service, as often as possible, and send them to us. We’ll provide a dedicated phone number (for SMS) and email address where you can send them.

Throughout this phase, we will be testing some of the key functions of OWNSTABLE, including submitting service reports, invoice generation, sharing multimedia* and communicating with Owners*.

It is important to note that we will not be requesting any financial details, nor will we be conducting any billing or payments throughout the shadow trial.

Owners

During the shadow trial, Owners will be using the OWNSTABLE platform directly to view a timeline of activities and media related to their horse.

To assist with the trial process, we encourage Owners to:

  • Stay informed: Use OWNSTABLE to view service reports, multimedia, invoices and your Owner Statement at any time.

  • Keep in touch: Share regular feedback on the information you can view in OWNSTABLE, the format it is presented in, what you like and what could be improved.

It is important to note that we will not be requesting any financial details, nor will we be conducting any billing or payments throughout the shadow trial.

Your participation will provide invaluable insights into the Owner experience and help us refine OWNSTABLE to be as clear, engaging and user-friendly as possible.

OWNSTABLE shadow trial

  • The OWNSTABLE shadow trial is a way of engaging our stakeholders to test the software with real-world data and events.

  • We carry out a shadow trial by working with a number of parties who we think will use the software in the future.

    We ask them to inform us when they carry out a task or activity that the software should support (eg. a vet tending to a horse).

    When details of the task or activity are shared with us, we then use this information as testing data for the software to see how well it works.

    During the shadow trial, the OWNSTABLE team interact with the software and it is not a requirement of the stakeholders to use the platform at this stage.

    Stakeholders will be invited to use the OWNSTABLE software during the live trial (next phase).

  • The OWNSTABLE shadow trial will run long enough to put the key features to the test (including a month end), so that we can observe how the platform performs across a full cycle.

  • Our goal is to learn how the OWNSTABLE software fits the businesses and people who are intended to use it, causing no disruption or risk to their existing processes.

  • We’re committed to involving our stakeholders at every stage of the OWNSTABLE journey.

    It is through this collaboration that we gain valuable insights and are able to provide the best value to the equine industry.

  • The shadow trial is our first step toward introducing the full OWNSTABLE experience into real-world use.

    It benefits all stakeholders by providing an opportunity to share feedback while allowing the OWNSTABLE team to demonstrate how existing processes can be optimised.
